Is it at all possible to become a fully independent nation?

Of course it is. It is first and foremost a question of pursuing our desire to become independent. Most of us have that desire but feel uncertain about the consequences and what it means. But as you an see, then we are actually able to do something about that uncertainty.

In the preamble to an information campaign that Naalakkersuisut (Government of Greenland) did in august 2017, the then minister of independence Suka Frederiksens quoted the third verse of ”Nunarput Utoqqarsuanngoravit”, one of our national hymns, written by Henrik Lund in 1912: Suka did not include the first line of verse number 3, but we did that here:

Impossible now to stay where we are, Kalaallit, now we move towards larger objectives. As free people we will live in these lands, start to believe in ourselves".
Taqilluni naami atunngiveqaaq Kalaallit siumut makigitsi, Inuttut inuuneq pigiuminaqaaq, saperasi isumaqaleritsi
Henrik Lund, 1912
