Our first and foremost goal is to make use of our moral, human, legal, and political right to become a proper nation, free from being a part of the Danish state.

We wish that all of us take responsibility for the development of Kalaallit Nunaat as a free nation with full and indisputable right to enter into alliances, agreements and connections with other nations, establish trade and political connections and contribute with our own identity in any political, cultural and social relationships.

We wish that we, as a nation, demonstrate our responsibility to act based on equality and mutual respect between all human beings as well as the nature and all living creatures in it. We wish to demonstrate our responsibility by deselecting the illusion that we can exist in a harmonious subordinate relationship with Denmark, an illusion that has created inequality, as well as the sense of exploitation, suppression, and suffering. This responsibility we are not able to demonstrate by being subordinated by another nation. Especially if this nation sees a strong purpose in maintaining this illusion of harmony in order to satisfy its self-interest.

The legal track towards independence is already outlined in the existing lSelf-rule Act from 2009, and a negotiation with Denmark is an integrated part of this process.

We have a long relationship with Denmark and wish to see that Denmark acknowledge its responsibilities as a former colonial power in this transition to full independence. We wish to see that Denmark participates in this process from the beginning, where a young generation can grow up in a fully independent nation while Denmark, together with Kalaallit Nunaat, takes part in the work to safeguard a sustainable foundation for this move towards immediate independence. The vision we have is, that the young generation who has been raised in a fully independent nation will be well equipped to shape Kalaallit Nunaat as a nation being also economically independent of Denmark.

If Denmark does not wish to work with Kalaallit Nunaat in this process, then Kalaallit Nunaat will make use of its rights to find other partners who can work with us on this.
